Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK had made huge progress and is now the forefront cancer awareness charity in the UK. Their achievements to date are remarkable, even more so due to the fact they were only formed in 2002. With fantastic public support from the likes of West life, Madonna and Cate Blanchett, Cancer Research UK has strived to carry out the best quality research to help improve our general understanding of cancer in the UK. Their work has impacted on every cancer patient in the UK, by setting the standards for care and support at amazingly high standards, whilst ensuring the treatments are more and more effective.
It is almost unbelievable how many people are uninformed on the details of cancer. As such a general term for what people are suffering from, Cancer Research UK has dispelled so many myths about cancer. Years ago, cancer was seen as a death sentence; life became about becoming comfortable and waiting for the end. Now, cancer patients are fighting back with the help of Cancer Research UK; just look at the survivors like Lance Armstrong, Nelson Mandela and Arnold Palmer, all masters of their field and all have won the battle with cancer. With a donation to Cancer Research UK, you are helping to give lives to those who would otherwise be lost to the world. Whether giving someone the chance to become a great sportsman, a humanitarian, or just get to spend another year with their children, every penny helps in the fight against one of our biggest killers.
In their quest to increase public understanding of cancer, Cancer Research UK publishes a scientific report every fortnight, and information is readily available online and in any of the high street stores dotted around the country. Keeping people informed on developments in research and treatments is vital to beating cancer, but it is also very costly. A gift of a donation to Cancer Research UK helps the world get one step closer to ending cancer as a terminal disease. The road ahead is long and will take a great deal of time and effort, but with every donation, the end comes closer and closer. Visit the Cancer Research UK shop here.
