The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds has been safeguarding endangered species of birds for over 100 years, although in more recent years, their focus has widened to the general protection of the environment. The RSPB is the largest organisation promoting the protection of wildlife in Europe and has worked tirelessly to bring many species back from the brink of extinction.
